Responding to a Take Out Double with a Weak Hand
Please read the previous post to learn about the take out double.
Introducing the Take Out Double
When partner makes a take out double you MUST bid – even if you have no points.
So with 0-8 HCP bid your LONGEST suit at the LOWEST possible level. You don't want to get Partner excited. If they have a very good hand they can bid again.
So with that in mind what do you respond with each of these hands when your LHO opens the bidding 1♣, Partner says "Double" and your RHO Passes?
