This is a continuation from the previous post:
What to Respond?
Here is your hand:
♠K752
♥3
♦AQJT
♣AQ32
Partner opens the bidding 1
♦. The opponents passed throughout the bidding. You decided to respond 1♠. Partner bid 3♠.
What is your bid? You are playing match points.
Show Answer
First think of what Partner is showing for their 3♠ bid. They should have about 17 or 18 points with ♠ support (four of them). You have 16 points. You have found a fit and have the values for a small slam. You need to respond 6♠!
For all you Blackwood lovers there is no need to ask for Aces on this auction. You shouldn't be off two of them. Otherwise Partner has a bit of explaining for their 3♠ bid.
